Professor Vladas Algirdas Bumelis

Chamber President

For over 20 years, Professor Bumelis has been a leading expert in the fields of chemistry and biotechnology in Lithuania. He received his PhDs in both subjects from Vilnius University and has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Science Award of Lithuania in recognition of his achievements in science and technology in the development and production of recombinant proteins. Today, Professor Bumelis serves as President of the high-tech science and industry valley Santara and as Chairman of the Board at Biotechpharma. In the past, he filled senior management positions with multiple international companies including Sicor Inc. and Teva Pharmaceuticals and also served on the boards for such organizations as Biofa, Biotechna, and the Institute of Applied Enzimology in Lithuania.

Professor Bumelis

Miša Jakobas

Director of LICC

Miša Jakobas received his Master degree in mathematics from Šiauliai Pedagogical Institute in 1972 and worked as a teacher till 1989 when he became the Deputy Director of Vilnius Sholom Aleichem Gymnasium. In 1991 he became the Director of Vilnius Sholom Aleichem Gymnasium and filed this position till December 31st, 2020. During this period he has accumulated huge managerial experience working as a leader of the school and has been awarded with numerous awards including the ordination “For the merits to Lithuania, the Knight’s Cross”. He will bring to LICC his knowledge and understanding how to increase the economic, financial and commercial cooperation between Lithuania and Israel to the higher level.


Jolanda Kriškoviecienė

Deputy Director of LICC

Jolanda Kriškoviecienė has almost 25 years of experience working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania. She has been posted as economic counsellor, minister counsellor and deputy chief of mission at the embassies of Lithuania in Stockholm, Beijing, Washington, Ankara and Baku. She also has experience in scientific field as well. She received her PhD in economics in 1983 and later her PhD diploma was nostrificated  by the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences. She has worked as lecturer and associate professor at Vilnius University, and other universities.  Jolanda Kriškoviecienė brings her knowledge and experience to LICC aiming to facilitate economic and commercial links between Lithuania and Israel.

As LICC's first partner, the Embassy of Israel was instrumental in the Chamber's revitalization and proudly continues its assistance as a contact, consultant, and advocate for the Chamber and its activities. Working together, the Embassy aims to advance the economic and political ties between Israel and Lithuania and to expose more and more Lithuanians to everything Israel has to offer.
